Dear Irrigators,
Below is the most recent information regarding our water supply situation and storage as of October 31, 2025.

Waterton and St. Mary reservoirs continued to drop through October. Ridge Reservoir was drawn down to the desired level prior to shut down and has increased slightly following shut down. Headworks storage is currently sitting at 208,000 ac-ft or 45% Irrigation Full Supply Limit (FSL).

District storage is currently sitting at 255,000 ac-ft, or 80% of Irrigation FSL.
Chin reservoir reached our target of ~125,000 ac-ft of storage. 40 Mile reservoir gained slightly after shutdown and has ~68,000 ac-ft of storage. The remaining reservoirs in the SMRID comprised of Stafford, Horsefly, Taber, Fincastle, Grassy Lake, Sauder and Murray are within desirable winter levels.

Combined storage is at 463,500 ac-ft, or 59% FSL.

We will provide monthly updates of snowpack data throughout the winter months.
The Board of Directors and SMRID staff would like to thank Irrigators for another successful irrigation season.
Sincerely,
David Westwood
General Manager
St. Mary River Irrigation District
