Notice to All Irrigators

As you are all aware, the drought conditions persist in Southern Alberta and the headworks and our internal reservoir storage levels are significantly below average for this time of the irrigation season. We have noticed that water usage has started to decline over the past week as crops continue to mature and harvest has begun in parts of the District. We are closely monitoring District usage and storage on a daily basis.
Our goal is to allow our irrigators to continue to irrigate well into September. If our water supplies decrease faster than projected we will communicate a system shut down and expect to provide not less than two weeks’ notice to allow irrigators, livestock producers and domestic water users to have time to fill their dugouts.
The Board of Directors will continue to meet and update you on the situation as it unfolds.
